MindTab Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection

MindTab does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not track your browsing history, and we do not require account registration.

2. Data Storage

All bookmark data (titles, URLs, summaries, tags, and folders) is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB and chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device except when you explicitly trigger AI-powered features (see Section 3).

3. Data Usage

When you actively trigger the bookmark save or search feature, MindTab sends limited page information to an AI service (DeepSeek API) to generate summaries, tags, and search results. Specifically:

• Only the page title, URL, and a limited text excerpt (up to 4,000 characters) are sent
• Data is sent only when you explicitly initiate a save or search action
• The AI service processes data in real time and does not store your bookmark data
• No browsing history, personal information, or other unrelated data is transmitted

4. Data Sharing

MindTab does not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to any third party. Data is shared with third-party services only as described below, and solely to provide core product functionality:

• DeepSeek API — receives page title, URL, and text excerpt when you trigger AI indexing or search
• Google Favicon Service — receives website domain names to fetch site icons for display purposes

No data is shared for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond the functionality described above.

5. Data Retention

All bookmark data is stored locally on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. MindTab does not retain any data on remote servers. Data sent to the AI service for processing is used in real time and is not stored by the service after the response is returned.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time through the following methods:

• Use the "Clear All Data" option in MindTab's Settings page to remove all local bookmark data
• Uninstall the MindTab extension, which automatically removes all locally stored data

7. Security

All communications between MindTab and external services are encrypted using HTTPS. Your bookmark data is stored locally using browser-native storage APIs (IndexedDB and chrome.storage) which are sandboxed and accessible only to the MindTab extension.

8. Children's Privacy

MindTab is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of MindTab after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
